Innovating Santiago: 100 Solutions for a Smarter City

The Metropolitan Region of Chile, known for its many advantages, faces challenges that have impacted the quality of life of its residents in recent years. Climate and security crises have been key factors in this decline, highlighting the urgent need for innovative and sustainable solutions. With a population of 7,112,808 according to the 2017 Census, representing 40.5% of the national total, the region shows a notable demographic distribution, with 51.3% women and a high concentration in the province of Santiago. This urbanization intensifies the need for efficient solutions to improve the quality of life. In this context, smart cities emerge as a key solution. They use advanced technologies and data to enhance the efficiency of urban services, optimize resource use, and foster a higher quality of life. Integrating technologies into areas such as transport, waste management, water use, and security can transform the Metropolitan Region into a more sustainable, safe, and efficient environment.
